As from 1st October 2012 According to Regulation (EU) No 1266/2009 (Annex1b) it is a legal requirement that an independent motion signal is connected to an activated DTCO, Therefore for this digital installation a DTCO Geoloc is required part number A2C59514979
FITTING INSTRUCTIONS –
Remove the blanking plug if from the rear of
the RH side of the transmission and install the new sender unit and cable in the transmission with a new/existing bolt and route the cable through the left-hand bulkhead gaiter into the cab.
Remove the cubby-box liner from the DTCO position and insert the metal Trim Sleeve supplied. Bend back the appropriate tabs to secure.
Wire up A1/A5/A6 of the Plug and Harness supplied, to the adjacent cigar lighter socket and wire up A2/A3 to a suitable panel light feed (58) and ignition feed (15) in the electrical compartment below the steering column.
Insert the WHITE and YELLOW plugs in the A and B sockets at the rear of the DTCO and fit the Plug and Harness Sealing Cover Supplied. Insert one of the Red Seals supplied in the Sealing Cover embossed with your GB seal no. Slide the DTCO into position until locked.
Secure all cables allowing for the MTCO to be withdrawn.
Complete the calibration and sealing of the installation.
Installation of Geoloc
In order the prevent GPS sensivity issues, the module needs to be installed in a position where the module has a clear view to the sky and satellities.
1- When installing the Geoloc module in vehicle, make sure that are as few obstrutions as possible close to the unit since it has a internal GPS antennta. Any obstruction might block the 360 view to horizon that is required for good operation. ideally, nothing should block the antenna beyond 5 degrees above the horizon with the best location being on the windscreen.
2- The GPS receiver antenna (Patch-Antenna) is located underneath the type data plate. Therefore the data plate ( Antenna side of the module) should face upwards towards the sky (See image below).
PLEASE NOTE: The Geoloc is equipped with a 120 Ohm can resiter. The CAN wiring to CAN 1 or Can 2 must take into account !
